Agree reading does cause heat. But I only do a single bias frame, which causes this behavior and a single 1s light frame does not. So I would suspect another reason for this.

Hi QHY600 fans on linux (Ubuntu 22.04)
I start capturing reference images.
I cool the camera down to -10 degrees and it stabilized there. Cooling power is about 65%
If I take lights, temperature stays constant at -10
If I take a bias frame with 0,001s exposure time, temperature rises continuously but cooler power goes to 100%.
This behavior is observable in any SDK
Any ideas why this happens ? Currently I'm not able to gather bias frames

thanks to all, I managed to do it. Finally I used the SDK version (as with it I'm able to test camera function without EKOS as well) and made a link from
in /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libqhyccd.so.22 to /usr/local/lib/libqhy.so.22.8.17.17 and run ldconfig afterwards.

Add:
found out that the library has to be present in /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu, which makes no sense for me for and user installed lib.
So renaming it there (also with SDK) makes INDI find the lib now....
Still I do not know why -> somebody could explain this? Many thanks.

I installed the SDK again, but also made the lib renamed and run ldconfig, but the message libqhyccd.so.22 not found persists. Does EKOS search at another place for this lib? I now /usr/local/lib should be the right one, but...

No did not, but after uninstall and mistclean and reinstall Indi-full there is no lib in /usr/local/lib.
The SDK install the libs there, but indi does not. Any thoughts ?

did this:
sudo bash uninstall.sh
sudo bash distclean.sh
sudo apt-get install indi-full kstars-bleeding --reinstall
still:
ldd /usr/bin/indi_qhy_ccd |grep libqhy*
shows:
libqhyccd.so.22 => not found
see the QHY600 in /dev as symlink.
I had the sdk always in the past installed and running. Since upgrade to ubuntu 22.04 (from 20.04) I have this problem.
Any further thoughts about what I'm doing wrong ?

I recognize the same problem with actual SDK from QHY. Doing the right links in /usr/local/lib still gives me the message:
ldd /usr/bin/indi_qhy_ccd |grep libqhy*
libqhyccd.so.22 => not found
Any ideas about this.
Setup is ubuntu 22.04 with actual 3.6.1 KStars and EKOS and latest QHY SDK

Hi,
my two cents to sort some of the questions out:
- MW3 used a interface to astrometry.net online for solving
- MW4 removed this, because of the long solving times and added the support of the local astrometry.net solver provided by ekos. This support is still there, but on some platforms (MAC) the binaries were removed (I think when stellar solver started).
- MW4 added the support of ASTAP as this solver is available on all platforms.
- I would love to support the internal solver, if there is any binary to call from external on all platforms. So far Rob had a lot to do to make the internal happen. Perhaps there is the opportunity to make this happen in future. (DBUS calls are unfortunately not the solution)
For the solving topic:
My experience is that all solvers work fast if they get a reasonable starting point to search from. The internal one is very efficient as it could solve on multiple threads (so it is somehow a brute force attack )

Somehow there must be a location from where the indiweb is loaded. Not to easy to tell where on linux. Even though it might be more than one location. The change to 1000 was the value I did - and which is btw. the value in the actual repo on GitHub - and since using this I get 1x1 bin images from my QHY600 (see this thread as well).
