Hi,
I'd like to run 2 scopes in parallel with FT focusers und HSM on both. My FocusBoss has 2. controller board installed, But I do not see a chance to select the motor.
I guess, this is not possible but would require a stand-alone software acting as a software hub?
Obviously I cannot connect two drivers to the same port.
On Optecs website I saw the Alpaca driver for the Pi, anyone tried that?
Thanks a lot.

Hi,
I have seen solutions here for the problem, that gpsd grabs the port and one cannot connect to the focuser. These involved shutting down gpsd entirely or disabling auto connect.
My solutions was to edit /lib/udev/rules.d/60-gpsd.rules and comment line 44, that holds the ID for PLLs USB-serial controller, the same being used in both focusers. This way, the port is not grabbed by gpsd and I am fine as long as I do not use a GPS device with this chip.
From my limited point of view, I do not see any chance to ask the user for intervention, if two different devices use the same chip. At least, in line 34 it says, FTDI rule is disabled, because too many other devices use this.
Any comments?
Thanks a lot.
Cheers

Hi,
I did some coding in the past, but did never write a driver or something similar. When time allows, I try to dig into the documentation. Another thing to check is, how the internal motor controller of the UPB2 is handled, if at all. I have that, but never connected it to Kstars. Will check, maybe that gives a hint

Darren,
I also have these only to find out, that the external motor controller is not yet supported, which is why I am looking for info on this. Is there any news on this in the mean time?
Thank you.

Hello,
is anyone here using this mount? It is the precursor of the RST-135 and should to my best knowlegde be more or less equal to it besides other strain wave gears. Unfortunately, RA did not (yet?) supply the latest firmware upgrade for the 150, that the 135 got.
As the 150 is not listed (I am using astroberry) I chose the 135 and could connect to the mount, I can move it, auto guiding through PHD worked, homing and parking also, but the RA/Dec position of the mount is not updated in the driver and Kstars, even after a slew initiated in kstars.
INDI gets its location data from a GPS, the communication on the mount is set to USB and LX-200 protocol.
Any help, also from 135 users about their settings is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your experience. As a quick test, I just launched a second instance of KStars on my Pi3B and it worked, although not yet doing guiding or even connected to a scope/mount. But it worked at least in this test with an ASI1600 and a 183 without any problem, all frames were saved. Can't wait to test it under real conditions

So I would need another KStars/Ekos to control the second imaging cam? Do you see any possibility to somehow synchronise two instances or have one control the other to make use of dithering?
Thank you
Torsten
PS: Sorry for posting the last question multiple times. I had missed the notice that the posts are reviewed before showing up.

Hello and PMFJI,
I would like to run two cameras simultaneously and have the third for guiding. Connection is ok, I can talk to all cameras, set sequences and get pictures. But how to run two sequences in parallel?
Sorry, if this is obvious and I am just too blind to see But I could not find a reference to this.
Thank you.
