You have 2 sections in kstars configure when you control the fits preview :
- in fits you could change the preview "use fits viewer"
- in ekos, on tab capture, you could check/uncheck "summary screen preview"
I don't know exactly than you must uncheck, but i think than one of 2 do what you want.

Since, I done a lot of investigations and I remembered that have had a similar problem due to .... /etc/hosts !!! For a unknown reason i had changed the localhost ip address without impact in ubuntu 20.04. I just change my localhost address to 127.0.0.1 into hosts file and all work fine now.

since I upgrade my Ubuntu to 22.04 (but maybe not) I cannot connect Ekos to local indi server. I try with PHD2 and doesn't have the problem. I try with the development release and stable release and I have the same behavior.
