Hi there,
to calculate the worm period is very easy, if you know the count teeth of your RA/DEC gesr.
Sorry Jasem for filing a Ticket
Why: you need this (also for PHD2) for PPEC (predicted periodic error correction).
See:
www.cloudynights.com/topic/806044-eq6r-p...rm-cycle/?p=11619011
> Assuming the mount has true sidereal tracking the worm wheel rotates exactly once in a full sidereal day (86,164.1 seconds).
> Obviously the worm wheel must have a whole number of teeth (180, 176, 160, etc.). The division is then simplified (86164.1/# of Teeth).
> If the worm wheel has 180 teeth then the worm gear rotates once in 478.6894 seconds. (Ignoring backlash or periodic error)
We could
1. Add this to the chapter "GPG RA Guider" in
www.stellarmate.com/support/ekos/guide.html
2. Simply add this as a field into the "GPG RA Guider" EKOS settings which then calculates the worm gear period
3. More and better we could couple this with the mount settings in the image train. This is the best way to ensure, the correct settings are used each time you use a certain mount.
Cheers, Axel
