Just noticed that one can buy stellarmate os. I dont really need it, but I was wondering if buying stellarmate os would actually financially support the development of Indi and kstars? Or is stellarmate os sold by a third party not really affiliated with the development of Indi and kstars?
Stellarmate OS is an offering from Jasem the principal maintainer of Indilib. Just how far proceeds filter down to other contributors is a question for Jasem.
Running the servers and this forum definitely needs support, so whether you buy Stellarmate or donate directly, it is the right thing to do.
Even at the development stage it is in, Indi/Ekos is definitely worth the money. I joined about 2 years ago and the suite is already infinitely better than it was then.
I am happy to contribute as needed to keep this going!
Monetary wise as well as with my feedback on bugs and improvements.
It has been fun and I don't want to see this forum or Indi/Ekos to disappear.
I hope you all join in with your support.
Cool, I didn't know that the OS could be bought separately. I've always stepped back from SM because I already have more than enough neglected Raspis in my drawer. Now it's actually an option for my next build.
Just a thought, but perhaps offer a free StellaMate license to significant contributions, i.e. new hardware driver added ro fixing a major outstanding bug? Both of which potentially increase the target audience.
