I recently bought the stellarmate OS and installed it on a Rpi 3b+. I was trying to update kstars to the latest 3.2.1 build. I followed the instructions and got some errors:

I'm new to linux and have no idea on what to do. Any help is greatly appreciated!

At the top of the output it says

“You might want to run 'apt-get -f install' to correct these”

so please open a terminal and type

sudo apt-get -f install

I did that and that's what brought up the error message at the bottom. I ran the software updater and it is from the BIND 9.x update.

I have the exact same issue.

Something similar here, it seems to be related to Ubuntu1.14 where it should have been Ubuntu1.12, I also tried apt-get install -f, no changes:

The Package System is broken
Check if you are using third party repositories. If so disable them, since they are a common source of problems.
Furthermore run the following command in a Terminal: apt-get install -f
Transaction failed: The package system is broken

EDIT: Just downloaded Stellarmate 1.3.4, doing a hard reset - I'll be back

I note that some of you are prepending your commands with "sudo" and some are not. For Linux noobs, note that a "regular" user will probably not have permissions to update system files and so the commands will fail. To get around this, use "sudo", short for "super-user do". It will run the command as the "superuser" account. You will be prompted for a password, which should be the one you use for logging in (it has nothing to do with the superuser's account password). After you authenticate once, you should be able to run multiple "sudo" commands without authenticating every time.
