I'm recently having a lot of troubles with alignment, getting failures both with ASTPA and local astrometry. With astrometry, I get a lot of "Solution file doesn't exist. Solver failed". What does that mean? Which file is it that does not exist? (index files are there and the image is captured....)
I haven't had this for a while. But tonight I had a few "solution file doesn't exist". Only when using local astrometry. I could not produce a log - it seemed kstars froze when I switched on log, and it seemed as though it tried to write to /tmp/ but that was not writable? I could not really figure out, clouds came in.
However, I found out that there were index files missing for my FOV - quite small FOV. Could it be that it means that it is an index file that doesn't exist?
In my case I'm getting this error all the time now, and I'm not missing any index files, I downloaded even the largest ones.
About the possibility it simply means that it can't find enough stars - I don't remember ever getting this error before when the solver could not find enough stars. Are you sure it means that?
