Well been doing sort of this morning. Installed the 64bit Ubuntu 20.04
Hole in the wall and network cable to the mount outside. Nothing else installed sofar as Indi server and indi-web. Did not install a desktop (yet) but might do that. Now it seems rock-solid. (weather forecast looks good so let's see)
Running it from kstars with remote connection, and with that 1Ghz network cable saving images over network is faster than writing to SD card (which I have to since no ssd). Your wiffi speeds look great. With my windows pc I can get between same locaction speeds up to 733 Mbs, but the wifi card in that machine costed more than the Rpi4 some not an honest comparison.
Astroberry on the Pi4 is known to have issues when the desktop is 4k and interfere with it's own WiFi. Are you using that resolution? if so, try lowering it.
Managed to get a session done yesterday but not without problems. The Pi and the network are ok, but Indi and Kstars have some very annoying bugs. (and not only on the rpi, but in all versions)
Kstars still has a habit of crashing when you disconnect from indi server. Problem is that then you loose settings that you have done during the session. You restart, don't think about it and yes all images saved again in the wrong directorty. Annoying
Indi is also very "touchy" when you start changing things during the session. EG: I used PHD2 with the zwo cam throuhg indi (since the cam is remote) . I like to do polar align in Indi, so disconnect PHD2, select the zwo for polar align. All ok. Switch back to the main cam in plate solver tab en also restarts PHD2. Every time PHD2 captures, the image is loaded to the platesolve tab, so almost impossible to to platesolving now with the mainscope/camera.
Also the main camera now takes images, downloads the image in the viewer but never stops showing downloading and have to "abort" the session. Only way to get back on track is to stop everything, stop/start kstars and reconnect.
After that if you "behave" everything works a bit as expected.
Guys: do you ever do some SERIOUS testing? or only very "normal" and slick operations.
