I have been testing the load image & slew in the Solver Control, whilst utilising the ansvr locally installed solver...
- ansvr installed & working correctly (tested with PinPoint which also supports a local solver)
- the test FITS image has the correct header required
It seems as if Ekos just doesn't give it enough time to solve the image... if I dig out the logs from the Windows PC, it does show it completed successfully
I include 2 logs files :
- log_ansvr.txt : is the log file in the ansvr cygwin structure (C:\Users\Phil\AppData\Local\cygwin_ansvr\var\tmp\platesolve\000010 in my case)
- ekos_window.txt : the solve window output as seen in the Solver Control
So, in summary... ansvr does solve the image, as per it's log file, but Ekos just doesn't seem to give it enough time
EDIT:
Every so often, it does solve... but it just seems random....
Also, note, it solves EVERY time via nova.astrometry.net web interface AND via PinPoint (maybe takes about a minute or sp)
I found that changing the JOB_RETRY_DURATION in onlineastrometryparser.cpp from 2000ms to 10000ms seemed to do the trick... ultimately, I would suggest it would be best to have these as parametesr in the Ekos Astrometry options section...
