Hi,

I'm using the polar alignment module with another setup with success, but with this setup (EQMount & ASI533MCPro), after capturing and solving the 1st image and before executing the 1st mount rotation, ekos crash.

Below is the KStars log from Ekos Debugger

Appreciate is someone can look into this as I prefer to use the Ekos Polar Alignment over other methods

HI, I experienced the same situation and I solved changing the speed value decreasing from maximum value to that immediately lower (700x or 800x if I rememeber).

Thank you Andrea. I think I was using 700x speed but will try again using a lower speed...

Update, I used a very slow speed of 64x instead of 800x but it didn't solve the problem and the same crash happen. The KStars debug is attached...

Are you running a "client version" of KSTARS?
Read here (from INDI forum/website):

Ekos does all the heavy lifting and it is STRONGLY recommended to run it on a separate computer (laptop or workstation). Which is where the networking comes in: A Raspberry Pi runs INDI server, running all the drivers for your AP and "serving" them to Ekos. Ekos is typically run on a more powerful (than a Pi) remotely networked PC. Ekos is where you set up your AP session: target, plate solving, tracking, focusing, and of course imaging - and MUCH more. If you have the hardware, Ekos can probably run it. Ekos (which again, is built into the Kstars planetarium program) is the nerve center controlling all your gear.

I solved other problems using this method, now all seems is going fine!

Hi Andrea,

The problem is I'm using the same exact setup on another scope and it works fine

Hi Jasem,

Tonight I tried with 3.5.5 beta, and it crashed after 3rd picture between WCS calculations and results. PFA Kstars logs

Thank you, the crash moved to inside the WCS library now. It still doesn't make sense. I think we may need to arrange for a debug session when you have time with teamviewer.

Hi Jasem,

That's totally fine with me. What is your general availability? also, can we do this using a sim camera, or do we need to wait for a clear sky night?
