My RPi system for KStars/INDI runs Lubuntu, and one minor issue it has is it does not properly display the KStars application icon. Lubuntu has an LXDE environment and KStars is the only application I've seen this issue with. Put simply, the application icon does not display in the Taskbar or as the Window Icon. Any thoughts?
I think you may not be using the latest version of KStars wich is using Breeze instead of Oxygen.
That happened to me too, and I found out it was not upgrading.
Please verify wich version you are using.
If indeed it's the latest version , try to use Breeze theme in the operating system, on desktop properties, icon themes.
So I just tried KStars on a fresh VM and I also got no icons. I tried everything, but without oxygen-icon-theme, it just won't work, so I'll add this dependency back, even though we are using zero oxygen icons now. I think this issue is resolved in 18.04 which is only a couple of months away.
I already had it installed.
Still no KStars Icon in the system toolbar or window bar top corner. I tried using the Oxygen theme too.
It's not really a big issue. But interestingly other icons display correctly, including the Ekos and INDI control panel's.
I have the same issue
I am using Raspbian and I compile the Kstars in the pi3.
The icons are critical to me. When I focus using the focus frame, I need to zoom in/out, and enable/disable the star circles. Now the screen shows the "text" on the buttons, but the window is not large enough to display all the text. Meanwhile if it's the icon, it's a small square box which I can see the icons without problems.
Hi all! Any news about this? I am new into kstars and yesterday I found the same problem with the missing Kstars icon under fresh Ubuntu 18.04 LTE installation.
Many thanks.
